Dr. Seuss Week is an annual event held in early March to celebrate the life and work of beloved children’s author Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. The week-long event encourages children and adults alike to pick up a Dr. Seuss book and read.
Dr. Seuss Week was first celebrated in 1998, the year after Geisel’s death. The event has grown in popularity over the years, and is now celebrated in schools, libraries, and homes across the country. During Dr. Seuss Week, children can participate in a variety of activities, such as reading Dr. Seuss books, dressing up as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters, and creating Dr. Seuss-themed crafts.
