“Project 2025 Librarians” is a workforce development initiative launched by the American Library Association (ALA) in 2015. Its aim is to ensure that all librarians have the skills and knowledge they need to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The project is based on the belief that libraries are essential to a thriving democracy and that librarians play a vital role in ensuring that everyone has access to information and the skills they need to succeed in the digital age.
The project has identified six key areas of focus:
