“Island Eyes 2025” is a long-term vision and strategic plan developed by the Island Eyes Partnership, a consortium of government agencies, non-profit organizations, and businesses dedicated to the conservation and sustainable development of the Hawaiian Islands. The plan’s goal is to create a more resilient and sustainable Hawai’i by 2025, focusing on six key areas:
- Climate change adaptation and resilience
- Natural resource management
- Cultural preservation and revitalization
- Sustainable economic development
- Education and workforce development
- Community engagement and empowerment
The Island Eyes 2025 plan is based on the recognition that Hawai’i is facing a number of challenges, including climate change, sea level rise, invasive species, and economic inequality. The plan aims to address these challenges by investing in renewable energy, protecting natural resources, promoting sustainable agriculture, and creating new economic opportunities.
