Denim Day 2025 is a global campaign held annually on the last Wednesday of April to raise awareness about sexual violence and to support survivors.
By wearing denim on this day, individuals show their solidarity with victims of sexual assault and demonstrate their commitment to ending sexual violence. Denim Day was first started in 1999 after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court that overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing tight jeans, implying that she had consented to sex. In response to this ruling, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work in protest, and Denim Day was born.
