Captain America: New World Order, also known as Captain America 4, is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and Captain America: Civil War (2016), and the 30th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. It stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America, alongside Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Shira Haas, and Tim Blake Nelson. In the film, Sam Wilson struggles to balance his life as Captain America with his personal life and the threats facing the world.
The development of Captain America: New World Order began in 2019, with Spellman and Musson hired in 2021 to write the screenplay. Onah joined the project in 2022. Filming began in March 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, and is expected to conclude in May 2023. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 3, 2024.
