The 2025 World Athletics Championships, officially known as the 20th IAAF World Athletics Championships, is a biennial track and field competition organized by World Athletics. It is scheduled to be held from August 19 to 29, 2025, at the National Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. The championships will feature over 2,000 athletes from more than 200 countries competing in 49 events.
The 2025 World Athletics Championships will be the first edition of the championships to be held in Asia since the 2007 edition in Osaka, Japan. It will also be the first time that the championships will be held in Tokyo. The championships are expected to attract over 300,000 spectators and will be broadcast to a global audience of over 1 billion people.
